Convention Panels
Since 2011, I've created and/or hosted dozens of panels for local conventions, primarily Comic Con Honolulu and Kawaii Kon. I've also MC'd everything from karaoke contests to formal dances to, of all things, cardboard Gundam swordfights. (It's a thing. Really.) Panels I've hosted include:
Anime Family Feud
- Teams of con-goers tackle themed survey questions, sometimes with very "unique" answers...
Anime Jeopardy
- Two sets of three contestants put their anime knowledge to the test with prizes on the line!
Awkwardholics Anonymous
- An open discussion on social awkwardness, hosted by the crown prince of awkward. (Me.)
Cardboard Mega-Brawl
- I wasn't kidding. People create cardboard suits of armor then battle with pool noodles. It's wild.
Charity Film Roast (18+)
- We've raised thousands for charity at the price of watching some of the world's worst movies.
Comics Family Feud
- Similar to Anime Family Feud, only with a focus on Western titles, characters, and nerd culture.
Comics Jeopardy
- Similar to Anime Jeopardy, only with ... I mean, do I really need to explain the difference twice?
Iron Cosplay
- Two teams of costume creators have an hour to create a character's costume and origin story.
Karaoke Contest
- I tried to win this for years. If you can't beat 'em, host 'em. That's what I keep telling myself.
Moonlight Magic Ball
- What started off as a night of slow-dancing turned into some jazzy swinging. No, not that kind.
The Mystery Panel
- It's not a panel about mysteries... or is it?! No one knows what to expect until the panel begins.
The Quiz Show
- Based on a Japanese novel / TV drama of the same name. If only they'd let me do this again...!
Hosting conventions and their panels gives me life! If you run an anime/comic convention and want any or all of these panels at your event, feel free to contact me!
